Luo Shanxue: Life of a “Japanese boy”
Born on August 22, 1945, Luo is the son of an unknown Japanese soldier and Wei Shaolan, a victim of of the Japanese sex slavery system. On the way to her family’s pig farm in 1944 with her baby daughter, Wei Shaolan was taken by the Imperial Japanese army by force, raped and enslaved in a “comfort station”. Lou and her mother have lived in difficult situations and was discriminated against by fellow villagers. They went to Japan in 2010 for testifying the atrocities committed by the Imperial Japanese Army.
